Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great!
Hope everyone’s had a great summer, mine was really nice but my goodness it rained for like two months! Thankfully the sun’s back!
Anyway, since we’ve had the most rain I think I’ve ever seen, I wanted to share some of the Netflix series I’ve been watching. Hopefully it will give you some ideas on what to watch next, or we can talk about the ones I’ve watched in the comments below, let me know what you think 🙂
Santa Clarita Diet
This is a horror-comedy series, starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. Don’t worry, it’s funnier than it is scary! It’s the story of how Sheila (played by Drew Barrymore), suddenly becomes a zombie. There’s three seasons, but I’ve only watched the first one so far. Out of 10, I’d give it like a 5. I thought it was funny but I wasn’t fully hooked. A lot of people really enjoyed it, but I thought it was okay. I like Drew Barrymore, she’s really funny and she’s the reason why I started this Netflix series. Hopefully you’ll like it better than I did, never the less I didn’t think it was bad!
The Crown
Now this series I really really liked. The forth season came out last year, and I think there’s two more seasons to come. Based on the story of the British royal family, I really enjoyed learning about the history of the Crown. The actors are brilliant, the series hooked me from the first episode! Highly recommend, 10/10.
Lupin
This one I also quite enjoyed. Starring Omar Sy (the best actor of the series in my opinion), it is based around the character of Arsène Lupin and its novels written by Maurice Leblanc. It’s really mysterious and keeps the suspense until the last episodes! The story was great and I enjoyed both seasons of this Netflix series, would recommend watching as well. 8.5/10.
RuPaul’s Drag Race
I started watching drag race a couple years ago and I’ve been watching every season since, including the All Stars. I completely discovered the art of Drag thanks to this series and it made me realize how incredible it is: the outfits, the makeup, the performances and the comedy. It’s really funny, love it! 10/10.
Riverdale
The new season premiered on January 20th, but I only started watching it recently because I wanted to wait for more episodes to come out (new episode every week). I have to say that I really liked the first three seasons, then I liked the 4th and 5th seasons less. Don’t really know why, I feel like the plot twist of the earlier seasons was more interesting, but that’s just my opinion. Season 5 isn’t finished yet, but for now I’d give it a 6.5/10 compared to the 8/10 I would give the first season.
Never Have I Ever
The second season came out mid-July and I can say I liked it as much as the first. It’s a coming-of-age comedy drama and the story is based around Devi (main character), an Indian-American high school student. I thought it was really funny but also loved the positive impact it had on the Hollywood industry: more Asian and South Asian representation and breaking those stereotypes. It’s super easy to watch and I liked all the characters, I’d give it a 9/10.
And there you guys go, these were the Netflix series I watched this summer! I hope you liked this blog post and let me know if you watched any of the series mentioned, I’d love to know your thoughts 🙂
