Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing great!
Today I have a very special blog post, it’s all about the 18th edition of Mode Suisse in Zurich Switzerland. And more specifically, the amazing collaboration collection between Mourjjan and Veronica Antonucci.
I was very kindly invited by my friend and fellow designer Veronica to attend the event and write a blog post about my experience. I’ve known Vero for about 3 years, we were actually classmates for a while and she became a good friend. I was so happy when she asked me to come see her second collaboration collection with the Swiss fashion label Mourjjan, because first of all, I absolutely adored their first collab and Mode Suisse is a very well known fashion event in Switzerland. I was the perfect opportunity for me, not only as a blogger but also as a future designer.
About Mode Suisse
Mode Suisse is a fashion event and platform that promotes the collaboration between fashion designers and schools, the textile industry, retail, media and other actors in the fashion industry. Every fashion designer shown at the event is from Switzerland.
The event is presented like a big showroom with a lot of Swiss fashion designers. You are able to talk with each creator and also discover their collection up close. I loved that I could feel all the different materials! In addition to the showroom, models wear some pieces and walk around during the day so that you can see the pieces on the body.
Mode Suisse presents, interconnects, discusses and sells Swiss fashion at shows, in showrooms and panel discussions. The semi-annual events staged in Zurich, Paris, Geneva and New York are targeted primarily at an expert audience, but also at amateur fashion lovers. -Via modesuisse.com

About Mourjjan X Vanto
They were both featured in the same magazine and Roland really liked Veronica’s work so he decided to contact her for a collaboration collection. Fast forward to 2020, the main keywords for their 2nd collection were “Reimagine“, “Reset” & “Reinvent“. The collection is a “constant flow in dialogue with the routine’s intimacy, to reset both mind and spirit through the lines of self-confident silhouettes aspiring to regain the freedom of being” (via their press release) during the current pandemic situation.
Since their last collection was all black, they wanted more colors, more positivity and to rethink fashion and the creative process that goes with it. As for accessories, this time Veronica wanted more craftsmanship. She used mostly metal rings to create chains that embrace and suit the silhouette. She worked on the body this time as well. She also created a few pieces, such as earrings and a belt, made out of recycled plexiglass. The patterns are between nature and geometry shapes that work perfectly with the “nature-inspired pastel materialising in found-at-home Italian silk and luxurious cotton” (via their press release).
Here are a few of my favorite pieces:

I just love the flow of the fabrics and the color palette, y’all know pastels are my jam!
And since there were a ton of other designers, here are some more faves, this time by the Swiss fshion brand Amorphose (based in Lugano, Switzerland):
Fulfilling my pink fantasy right here. Just stunning.
And there you guys go, this was my experience at the 18th edition of Mode Suisse in Zurich! It was so much fun, I discovered so many swiss designers and saw so many gorgeous pieces. Thank you again to my dear friend Veronica for the invite!
Thank you so much for reading, have a great day/night and I’ll talk to you in my next blog post!
