Happy reading!
If you really think about it, accessories are the thing that makes your outfit. They add that touch of magic, that trendy vibe, that glamorous detail that makes you stand out. If done right, they can make your eyes look more vibrant, your waist more cinched in, or make your hands look softer. They bring attention to your favorite bits and distract from what you’d like to hide, and they can upgrade your style for you to come off as a true fashion expert. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to learn all about accessorizing and pick up some of the hottest new pieces for this season!
Accessories complete the look
Without a good accessory, your outfit will most likely look… fine. Nothing technically wrong with it, but you’ll always feel like something’s missing. Maybe a sweet pair of earrings to accentuate your eye makeup, or a nice scarf that matches the pattern of the dress. Accessories complete the outfit in a way that makes it look polished and intentional, like you’ve spent time thinking about each piece and know exactly what you’re doing.
They transform the outfit
Take a simple black dress, for example. You show up at the office wearing a blazer over it and it’s perfectly work-appropriate, but the very same simple black dress can also work as a party outfit. How? Shrug off the blazer, slip on some metallic sandals, and add a pair of silvery hoops on your ears. Maybe a touch of perfume, a bracelet to match the earrings, and bright lipstick.
Versatile pieces
A pair of good black pumps is irreplaceable if you like heels, but you can also opt for some nude heels if you want that optical illusion of elongated legs. Leather bags are also super stylish and look good with anything, and this year, we like the bucket tote trend that was all over Australian Fashion Week. Also, big sunglasses in Sydney are the most popular accessory for a good reason – not only are they a great stylish piece, but they protect your eyes from the UV rays.
And that’s the best thing that you can do with your accessories, make them practical and versatile. That way, you’ll never look overdone or like you’re trying too hard, you’ll simply be wearing something cute that also happens to be very useful to you. Small pearl earrings, hoops, wristwatches, silk scarves, and ballet flats are a few more things that you can consider.
Accessories are your signature
People can come to recognize you by the way you accessorize, particularly if you pick a signature piece to wear often. If you have a favorite necklace that people keep seeing on your neck, they’ll start associating you with that piece, and there’s something very powerful about being the kind of fashion-forward gal who has the presence of mind to even have a signature piece.
If you want a cool suggestion, you can take a look at what’s currently trending in Australia: head scarves. We like the idea because a single scarf can be worn in a million different ways. You can tie it around your neck, you can style up your purse with it, you can wear it instead of a belt, or you can get your hair out of your face and wear it as a headband. Pick a vibrant color or something with a gorgeous pattern and amaze people with how many ways you can style it.
It’s about more than just a brand
Just because you have a Louis Vuitton handbag doesn’t really mean you’re stylish. Accessorizing well isn’t about the brand or how expensive something is. It’s about how you wear it, how you coordinate it with other pieces, how the color matches your hair, eyes, and skin tone. A cute pair of red Mary Janes you found at the flea market will work just as something expensive if you know what to do with it.
The point here is to let your own creativity flourish. Practice accessorizing at home, in front of a mirror, and see what kind of looks you can come up with. Let your style reflect your personality and enjoy your fashion!
