How I Do My Makeup When It’s Really Hot

Well hello there everybody, I hope you are doing very well!

Today I decided to share with you how I do my makeup when it’s really hot outside. In the hot summer days, I don’t always want to wear makeup. But, when I am doing something a little more special or just want to look a little better, I will wear a little bit of makeup, but it will be the minimal I can do, because no one likes the feeling of having a full face of makeup melting down in the summer heat…

So, I really hope you will enjoy this blog post and that it will help some of you who are struggling with how to wear makeup during hot summer days.

Disclaimer: I am not a makeup artist/expert, I learned how to do my makeup watching tutorials online so you might apply a certain product a different way than me, but if it works for you then it’s perfect! I am not saying this is how you are “supposed” to wear your makeup, I am just sharing how I do it 😉 This post contains affiliate links, all opinions are 100% honest and are my own as always.

Happy reading!

First things first, I always make sure that my face is clean and moisturized. In the summer, my skin tends to be a little more oily so I prefer to use a moisturizing cream that has more of a gel formula, so it’ll feel less greasy and less heavy on my skin.

This step is optional. Some days I have a few blemishes so I’ll just quickly cover them up with some concealer using a beauty blender. I love this concealer, which is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer in the shade Light. This one is really good for summer since it’s water based, therefore it feels a lot lighter. It still has amazing coverage though don’t worry! Some other days, my skin looks okay so I’ll just skip this step 🙂

Then, I will apply some powder to make my skin appear more matte and to set the areas where I applied a little bit of concealer. To do this, I use a loose powder since it feels a lot lighter than pressed powder. I like to use the Kat Von D Lock-it translucent loose setting powder. I like to use a powder that’s translucent because powder foundations or powders with coverage tend to feel heavier on my skin. I apply it using the little puff that comes with it, but you could also use a normal powder brush. I gently pat it all over my face but sometimes I’ll just apply it on my T zone (forehead and nose area).

Then, I’ll lightly apply some bronzer on my forehead and temples, to add a bit of color to my face because I don’t get tanned a lot (which is sad, I know haha). I use the Too Faced Soul Mates bronzer in the shade “Carrie & Big” with a big powder brush. Unfortunately, this bronzer was a limited edition so it’s no longer available. You can get a similar one here 😉

Next, I apply a little bit of blush. I like to use a blush with some shimmer, so that it does the blush and highlighter job (kind of like a 2 in 1). I love this one, which is the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect flush blush in the shade Peach Beach. Also, how cute is it??

For the eyes, I do as minimal as possible.

First, I lightly fill in my brows using the Benefit Ka-Brow in the shade number 4. To do this, I use the little angled brush that comes with it. I try to do them really lightly so it looks more natural.

Then, I’ll just apply some mascara and that’s it! I love the Benefit Roller Lash mascara, because it doesn’t smudge under my eyes and just does the job really well. You could also apply waterproof mascara instead!

Next, for the lips I keep it as simple as possible. Just some lip balm and I’m good to go! At the moment, I am loving this EOS lip balm in “Coconut milk”. It’s super creamy and hydrating, plus it smells amazing!

And that’s about it 😉 Throughout the day, if my skin gets a little shiny, I prefer using oil blotting sheets instead of applying more powder. Also, don’t hesitate applying setting spray as well, to help your makeup stay longer.

I really hope you liked this post and hopefully found it helpful! Please let me know in the comments how you like to do your makeup when it’s really hot (don’t be ashamed to say you don’t wear any, I do that most of the time) and what are your go to makeup products 🙂

I wish you a very nice day/night and I will talk to you in my next blog post!

All the love,
