Dusty rose makeup look

dusty rose makeup

Hello there everybody, I hope you are doing really well!

Today, I decided to share a little makeup look with you guys. As you probably noticed on my Instagram and on my blog, I am currently obsessed with the color dust rose, in clothes, home decor and obviously makeup. I have a few eyeshadow palettes that have rose/berry tones, perfect for a delicate feminine look. For today’s post, I decided to reach out for my trusty Swamp Queen eyeshadow palette from Tarte cosmetics. I love this palette so so much, you can create so many different looks with it and the quality is just amazing. You can never go wrong with it!

This makeup look is nice for the daytime but you could totally spice it up for a special occasion or a night out! I really hope you guys will like this post and the look, if you recreate it, please tag me in your pictures on social media so I can like your pics 🙂 So without further ado, let’s get started!

Quick disclaimer: I am not a makeup artist, I learned how to apply makeup my myself and thanks to tutorials online. I am not saying that there is only one way to apply a certain product, I am just explaining how I apply it. All opinions are my own as always and this post is not sponsored.

Step 1:

Before I do my makeup, I always make sure that my skin is clean and hydrated. First, I applied a primer, to smooth my skin, minimize my pores and help my makeup stay a lot longer. I used the Optical Illusion primer from Urban decay, I really love the formula and it does what it says so that’s good!

Step 2:

Next, I applied some foundation from Nars, it’s their Sheer Glow foundation in the shade “Deauville”. This foundation is really good, it has medium coverage and it’s definitely buildable. It lasts for a long time, although I do sometimes find that it creases a little bit near my mouth (yeah because I smile a lot aha).

Step 3:

Next, I applied some concealer in areas where I have a few blemishes. For that, I used the Tarte Rainforest of the sea concealer in the shade light, which has amazing coverage! Then, I powdered my face to set my foundation and concealer. I used the M.A.C. studio fix powder in the shade NC20. I really love this powder, I have been using it for so long! It’s really good quality and I never need to touch up.

Step 4:

Next, I applied some blusher to give my face a bit of color, since I can be a little pale sometimes. I used the one in the Swamp Queen palette called “Does this thing really work?” (number 1 on picture below), which is soooo pigmented (it’s literally so pigmented I actually have to be careful in order to not put too much on…) and has a beautiful pink color with gold sparkles.

Step 5:

Now, onto highlighter! I don’t wear highlighter everyday but I really love wearing some. It just lights up your face and add a nice glow. I used the one in the Swamp Queen palette which is called “Gator wings”(number 2 on picture below), which is super beautiful and super pigmented (a little goes a long way!). I applied this on the top of my cheekbones and also on my cupid’s bow and bridge of my nose.

Step 6:

Next, brows! I don’t do much to my brows but I still notice a nice difference when I fill them in. I used my Benefit cosmetics Ka-Brow cream gel in the shade 4 and then, to set that I apply the Benefit Ready-Set-Brow clear gel. These two products have been my go-to when it comes to my brows!

Step 7:

Now onto my favorite part, the eyes! As mentioned before, today I am using my Swamp Queen eyeshadow and cheek palette from Tarte. As a base shadow, I applied the shade #SFS (number 3 on picture above) on my lid, which is a nice dusty rose color with a bit of shimmer. Then, to define my crease, I applied the shade Haunted (number 4 on picture above), which is a darker rose color, more on the purple side. To finish off the look, I applied in my outer corner the shade “mancat” (number 5 on picture above), to add a little more drama. I also dragged it on my outer lower lash line to balance out the makeup look. And next, I applied some mascara, I used one from the french brand Yves Rocher, it’s their Vertige mascara, which adds nice volume to my lashes without them being clumpy.

Step 8:

For the lips, I decided to apply a nice dusty rose color, to compliment the whole makeup look. I used the Clavin Klein CK One lipstick in the shade “Dollface”. This lippie is super creamy, feels really nice on the lips and well pigmented.

Aaaaand here is the final look!
